Terms of Service

Last updated: February 2026

Please read these terms carefully before using Crovalt. By accessing or using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Critical Safety Warning

AI-generated calibrations are starting points only. They must be reviewed and verified by a qualified tuner on a chassis dynamometer before being used to operate any vehicle. Never load an unverified calibration into a vehicle and drive it on public roads.

1. Service Description

Crovalt provides an AI-assisted ECU calibration tool that generates starting-point fuel maps, ignition timing tables, AFR targets, and boost control parameters based on user-supplied vehicle specifications and modification details.

All generated calibrations are produced by a large language model (Claude, by Anthropic) and validated by a deterministic, physics-based constraint engine prior to export. This validation process checks 13 safety parameters including air-fuel ratio limits, ignition advance caps, injector duty cycle, exhaust gas temperature estimates, and cylinder pressure bounds.

Crovalt also provides datalog analysis features that parse user-uploaded ECU datalogs and identify anomalies such as knock events, lean conditions, boost deviations, and sensor faults.

2. Critical Disclaimer — AI-Generated Calibrations

AI-GENERATED TUNES ARE STARTING POINTS, NOT FINISHED CALIBRATIONS.

Every calibration produced by Crovalt — regardless of tune type (conservative, moderate, or aggressive) — is an AI-generated estimate based on generic hardware defaults and user-supplied specifications. This output has NOT been tested on your specific vehicle, on a dynamometer, or under real-world operating conditions.

DYNO VERIFICATION IS MANDATORY. Before loading any AI-generated calibration onto a vehicle for operation on public roads or track use, it MUST be reviewed, validated, and refined by a qualified professional tuner on a chassis dynamometer (dyno). No AI system, regardless of its validation layers, can substitute for empirical testing on your specific vehicle.

Crovalt's physics-based safety gate reduces the risk of dangerously unsafe outputs but does not guarantee correctness. Vehicles vary significantly from published specifications. Sensor calibrations, injector tolerances, environmental conditions, fuel quality variation, and component wear are among many factors that cannot be accounted for by an AI model.

DO NOT DRIVE A VEHICLE RUNNING AN UNVERIFIED AI-GENERATED CALIBRATION. Doing so risks severe engine damage, fire, loss of vehicle control, and serious personal injury or death.

3. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CROVALT, ITS FOUNDERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THIS SERVICE.

This includes, without limitation: engine damage or failure; damage to vehicle components or ancillary systems; personal injury or death resulting from vehicle operation; property damage; loss of use of any vehicle; costs associated with towing, repair, or replacement; or any other losses arising from reliance on AI-generated calibrations.

Crovalt provides this service "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liability for certain types of damages. In such jurisdictions, Crovalt's liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to discontinue use.

4. Acceptable Use

By using Crovalt, you agree that you are at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to modify, tune, or operate the vehicle(s) for which you generate calibrations.

You agree to use Crovalt exclusively as a tuning assistance tool — never as a standalone, unverified solution for operating a vehicle. You accept full responsibility for any calibration you load onto a vehicle and for all consequences arising from its use.

You agree not to use Crovalt for: (a) generating calibrations intended to defeat emissions systems or render a vehicle non-compliant with applicable laws; (b) commercial use in violation of your subscription plan; (c) automated scraping, bulk generation, or API abuse; (d) reverse engineering or attempting to extract underlying model weights, system prompts, or constraint logic.

Race and off-road use: Calibrations generated for competition or closed-course use remain subject to all disclaimers in Section 2. Crovalt does not warrant that any calibration is suitable for motorsport competition.

5. Billing and Subscriptions

Crovalt offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Crovalt to charge the payment method on file at the start of each billing period.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial periods.

Crovalt reserves the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

Chargebacks initiated without first contacting support will result in immediate account termination and may result in collections activity.

6. Data and Privacy

Account data: Crovalt stores your email address, vehicle specifications, generated tunes, and uploaded datalogs in Supabase, a PostgreSQL-based cloud database. Data is secured with row-level security (RLS) policies such that each user can only access their own records.

Uploaded datalogs: Files you upload for analysis are stored temporarily for processing and may be retained for a limited period to allow you to review results. We do not sell or share your vehicle data or tune files with third parties.

AI processing: Calibration requests are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic's privacy policy governs data handling on their end. We do not include personally identifiable information in prompts sent to the AI model.

Payment data: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. Crovalt does not store credit card numbers or full payment credentials.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting support. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

7. Changes to These Terms

Crovalt may update these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

The current version of these Terms is always available at autotune.ai/terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
